Ken Kreckel

Ken Kreckel writes full length historical fiction and mysteries. Fascinated with some of the lesser known aspects of history, his novels mainly deal with mysteries associated with the Second World War. For example, The Rommel Mission, released by Red Engine in November, 2006, focuses on the attempted surrender of German forces just after D-day. His most recent work, Birthright, revolves around the effort to overthrow Churchill in the darkest days of the war. The Ardeatine Connection, a mystery dealing with war crimes and the Vatican, was released in 2010. A cozy mystery, Rocked by Murder, features a geologist who must solve the murder of his collegue.

His short stories have been included in an anthology, Foreign Ground, Travelers’ Tales, published by Pronghorn Press in 2004, as well as collected works by Wyoming Writers Inc. He has contributed articles to the Mensa Bulletin, The Denver Post, and the Casper Star-Tribune, and his work has won awards from Writer’s Digest and Wyoming Writers Inc. As a feature editor of the Historical Novels Review, he has published hundreds of reviews, countless interviews with authors, and features dealing with historical fiction.

As a professional geophysicist who has worked throughout North America and Europe, he has personally researched the settings for his work. He lives in Wyoming, where he teaches at Casper College and consults for coroporations and environmental organizations in the Oil and Gas field.
