Laura J. Kendall, MICP worked full time as a paramedic from 1987 to 2017, in both inner city and rural areas. In 2018 she retired to grow Train To Respond, LLC and teach customers Active Shooter Response & Surivival, Tactical Bleed Control and National Safety Council First Aid, CPR and AED. She is a retired state certified police instructor for the Passaic County Police Academy as well as a clinical educator for Wayne General Hospital.
She has the skills necessary to instruct in the classroom, during hands on practical’s and in real life scenario situations. Laura currently hold instructorships in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, National Safety Council First Aid, CPR and AED , instructor at Community College for the Public Safety curriculum and an Active Threat Integrated Response Instructor for NCBRT/LSU.
Laura is the author of several non-fiction books including The Active Shooter Response Manual for Civilians, Active Shooter Response & Tactical Trauma Care and Rescue Task Force and Tactical Trauma Care for First Responders.
She has trained numerous EMS agencies, Law Enforcement Agencies, Fire Departments as well as businesses, groups and organizations on how to recognize, react, survive and aid the wounded in an active threat situation.

She is also passionate about animals and animal rights. She has been a foster mom to many greyhounds, rescued off the tracks and currently lives with her 13 year old, sweet retired rescued greyhound Kelsey.
