Artie Mahal (Arjit Singh Mahal) was born in New Delhi and arrived in the United States in 1968. As a new immigrant, he worked in a variety of jobs including car assembly, truck driving, and import of goods. As the Information Technology was just emerging, Arjit got trained as a computer analyst and started his professional journey at Mars, Incorporated. There he worked for 20 years--and progressed from IT to Business Process Management to the formation of Mars University. In 2003, Arjit founded his management consulting business ASM Group and also subsequently joined BPTrends Associates.
For several years Arjit had been involved in community programs: He was president and one of the founder of the first Sikh Temple in New Jersey; served on the NJ Ethnic Advisory Council under Governors Tom Kean and Jim Florio; Served as Historical Commissioner of NJ under Governor Christy Whitman.
Arjit always wanted to write and after many years of “writers block”, the book “How Work Gets Done” was written when a friend suggested that he stop reading other “Gurus” books and just write what is in his head and mind--he is a Guru in his own right. Arjit is fond of history and is writing short stories about his life.
