Bill Varney Jr

Bill Varney, Jr. is a fourth generation Californian and has spent more than forty-years perfecting the art of surf fishing. As a child, Bill's love for fishing came from the encouragement of both his mother and father who enjoyed spending time at the beach. As a teenager Bill worked as a bait collector for tackle shops from Santa Barbara to San Diego. Over the years, Bill has spent countless hours fishing the beach and testing new techniques that have helped him create this quidebook with the newest and most complete reference on finding, baiting and catching West Coast surf fish.
