Hartmut Brie

Hartmut Brie was born in Freiburg/Germany in 1943. He started early writing poems with rhyme and imagery in an outstanding style.

Through his work abroad( lecturing in Naples,Lille,Khartoum,Porto Novo) and adult education campaigns throughout Africa, he is deeply involved into today social problems. He stands for "Gedankenlyrik"(poetry of thought). His critical mind helps him to find a style of his own, a direct way of communicating with his readers.

Hartmut Brie is a poet who writes poetry for the poetry`s sake and does not always have in mind sales data. He was reading ,though, several times on the "Leipzig Book Fair" as well as on Karlsruhe and Stuttgart Book Fairs. He is a member of numerous juries.

He has written up to now 8 poetry books four of which are illustrated by painters.
