I’ve always been an avid reader and love the power of a story. For me writing started at the early age of nine. Soon life got in the way of me taking it any further. University and a very time consuming teaching career diverted my interests elsewhere.

Life’s journey moved me to France at the end of the 1990s. Discovering my new surroundings was inspirational and made me pick up my pen again. Exploring my wonderful surroundings in the Loire Valley, I developed a taste for gastronomy. I spent three exciting winters (summers were frantic running a B&B) researching and writing about the production of goats’ cheese. Many recipes followed; and my hobby of photography enabled me to capture the results. I was in my element. I was fortunate enough to have the book accepted by a French publishing house. They encouraged me to write two further cookbooks in French.

I need to focus my work on what I feel passionate about. My first novel, ‘A Little Slice of Paradise’, stems from my love of the Caribbean. Unfortunately, many investors, looking to purchase their dream secondary homes in popular holiday destinations, fall victim to incompetent and unscrupulous property developers, and lose their savings. I knew I had to put my vexation onto paper, whilst portraying the vibrancy and beauty of the islands, and their genuinely hospitable people.

I now live in Devon, where I ‘m a very active member of the local Writers’ Group.
