Jeffrey Schwartz

Jeffrey Schwartz has been passionate about music from an early age, singing and playing piano and guitar since he was a child. While attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Schwartz studied black music history with renowned jazz bassist Richard Davis, performed as both a solo artist and with several bands, and managed a live music venue in downtown Madison. After settling in Los Angeles, Schwartz earned his master's degree in education, became an award-winning social studies teacher, and created a very successful rock-and-roll history course for middle school and high school students. Schwartz partnered with the family of the late rock photographer, Chuck Boyd, in 2010 to assist in their archival efforts and business affairs. He is a frequent consultant for various music publications, licensing agents, authors, and television/documentary filmmakers. He wrote the critically acclaimed children's book, The Rock & Roll Alphabet (Mojo Hand LLC, 2011), and compiled and edited the fine-art photo book, Forever Young: The Rock and Roll Photography of Chuck Boyd (Santa Monica Press, 2012).
