Jeffrey Schwartz

Jeffrey Schwartz is a music historian and educator in Los Angeles, and the author of The Rock & Roll Alphabet (Mojo Hand LLC, 2011), a children's alphabet book built from vintage rock photography.

He has been passionate about music since childhood, singing and playing piano and guitar. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison he studied Black music history with renowned jazz bassist Richard Davis, performed solo and with several bands, and managed a live music venue in downtown Madison. He later earned a master's degree in education, became an award-winning social studies teacher, and created a popular rock-and-roll history course for middle and high school students.

In 2010 he partnered with the family of the late rock photographer Chuck Boyd to help with the archive, and has consulted for music publications, licensing agents, authors and documentary filmmakers. He compiled and edited Forever Young: The Rock and Roll Photography of Chuck Boyd (Santa Monica Press, 2012).
