Gerald R Schmidt

I earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1966 from the University of Illinois, Urbana. I got licensed in Illinois in 1972. Worked as an architect until 1992, when I entered Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. I had had a major reversion to the faith in 1982, and from then on sensed that God wanted me to do more for Him than Architecture afforded. There was a long period when I tried out various forms of religious life: diocesan priest, religious order, monk, and member of lay institute. I earned an MA in Theology and Christian Ministry in 1996. January, 2012 marks 6 years that I've lived in Jacksonville, Florida. While here I have been running a show on Catholic radio station WQOP called A Leisurely Walk thru the Catechism which airs Saturdays at 11:00 am ET.
