Professor Lawrence B. Solum
Lawrence B. Solum (1954-) was born in Lynwood, California and grew up in Monterey Park, a suburb of Los Angeles. He became interested in law and legal theory as a teenager, spending much of his free time in the Los Angeles County Law Library. He attended USC and graduated from UCLA with a degree in philosophy. At Harvard Law School, he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review, graduating magna cum laude in 1984. He clerked for William Norris of the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit. He is currently a member of the law faculty of Georgetown University and he has also taught at Boston University, Loyola Law School, and University of Southern California, and the University of San Diego. Solum is the editor of Legal Theory Blog and the author of numerous books and articles on legal theory, constitutional law, and internet governance.
