Brian Dorsey is an American horror author, screenwriter, and producer whose work blends folk horror, supernatural fiction, historical horror, and occult thriller elements. A native of West Virginia and retired military officer, Dorsey is the founder of Mountaineer West Productions, where he develops independent horror fiction, comics, and film projects.
His fiction frequently explores the collision of faith, violence, folklore, and American history, with stories set across frontier territories, Appalachian mining towns, Civil War prison camps, and isolated rural communities. His work has been positioned within the growing “American folk horror” movement, combining historical realism with supernatural dread.
Dorsey is also the creator and writer of the supernatural horror series Hunters and writer/producer of the horror film project Hunger. Through Mountaineer West Productions, he has published novels, novellas, comics, and graphic works while developing film and streaming adaptations of original intellectual property.
