Dr. Isao Ebihara was born in Japan and resided in Canada since 1984. He has been teaching Japanese language in the Vancouver area since 2001. Dr. Ebihara authored All the World IS Anime (2010), Shinto War Gods of Yasukuni Shrine (2011), Land of Rising Ghosts & Goblins (2012) and Postmodern Japanology Handbook (2015). He also published a peer-reviewed academic article, “Critical Study of Japanese Mythology & Folklore Behind the Anime/Manga Culture Worldwide” in the journal Transactions: Journal of the Society of Scholars (2014).
Dr. Ebihara builds on his bachelor and master's degrees in English literature in Japan, and master's level degrees in counselling and divinity in Canada, and a Doctor of Philosophy in the sociological integration of religion and society in the USA. Isao and his wife Beth currently live in the Greater Vancouver area of BC.
