Praise for Dr. Rubin and his work:

Jeffrey Rubin seamlessly integrates east and west, heart and mind, science and metaphor, universal principles and personal advice."

--Tal Ben-Shahar, author of Being Happy

"I spent my formative years reading Freud, Jung and Erikson. I spent the next few decades reading Buddhism... Then I had the great good fortune to meet Jeffrey Rubin, a classically trained therapist who had read everything in the Western and Eastern traditions--and, to my delight, had found a way to blend the two in language so simple he sometimes writes for Oprah's magazine. If Jeffrey weren't my friend, I'd hire him to help me with my issues."

--Jesse Kornbluth, acclaimed author and editor of HeadButler.com

"The Art of Flourishing...displays Dr. Rubin's profound wisdom of the human psyche. His many years of uniquely combining the best of Eastern and Western approaches in his own life and as a psychotherapist make this book a treasure."

--Joel Kramer, author of The Passionate Mind Revisited and coauthor of The Guru Papers

"Jeffrey Rubin has taken the best from the teachings of traditional psychotherapy and Buddhism and, combining these with good old fashioned common sense, has written a book that could well be one of the most important books of our time."

--Irene Coleman, The Self-Improvement Blog and The Self-Improvement Radio Show

"Buddhism is now part of the contemporary cultural landscape and no other non-Western tradition has made such a large contribution to the family of psychotherapies. Rubin has done a superb job reviewing that contribution, pointing out the perils, as well as the possibilities, and describes what it looks like in clinical life."
