Elaine Heckingbottom

Elaine Heckingbottom lives in Essex, where she is a teacher. She is a true bibliophile who enjoys writing and preparing stories for children. Richard's Magic Book is her first completed title.

The ideas for Richard's Magic Book first came to her 8 years ago, when she was in Spain, and they started to fly together. Before she knew it, she had created a book!

For years, however, this book was only ever shared with close friends and family and the children in her class. Although many who read it encouraged her to try to get it published, she lacked the confidence and experience to know how to go about it. However, through the wonders of Kindle, she finally decided to have a go.

More recently, Elaine has also written a book of maths games for parents and grandparents to play with their children and grandchildren; which is also available on Kindle. This has come about through her experiences as a teacher over the last quarter of a century. Elaine is a strong believer in the role of play in learning; and maths is a great way to develop this. Hundreds of games ideas are included in this title - sorted by equipment used as well as by academic year, making it a must buy for parents of 3 to 11 year olds.
