Daniel Gallagher

Daniel Kōjin Gallagher Sensei is a Zen teacher in the lineage of Taizan Maezumi Roshi. He was born in Newton, Massachusetts, and earned a BA and an MA from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont. He moved to Paris to pursue graduate work at the Sorbonne and spent over 20 years in France teaching at the University of Paris while earning master's degrees and a doctorate with highest honors in Comparative Literature at the Université de Paris III - Sorbonne Nouvelle.

He is the author of D’Ernest Hemingway à Henry Miller : mythes et réalitiés des écrivains américains à Paris (1919 - 1939) published in 2011, Meeting the True Dragon: Zen Master Dogen's Fukazazengi (2019), and Striking Emptiness: Zen Master Dogen's Bendowa (2024).
