Ruth Phillips is internationally recognised as a cellist, performance coach and writer working at the intersection of music, movement and mindfulness. She is a graduate of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification and Mindfulness Mentor Programmes with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, and a lifelong student of Scaravelli yoga. Her innovative approach to practice and performance has supported musicians worldwide in finding greater ease and creative freedom both on and off stage.
Ruth’s first book, Cherries from Chauvet’s Orchard, was shortlisted for the Guardian Women’s Memoir award. She has written for The Strad, BBC Music and Classical Music, and CelloBello.
When not meditating or playing, Ruth enjoys swimming, yoga, walking, and ice cream. She lives in France.
