A leadership and management consultant and executive coach for over 30 years, Miles Kierson is known as a respected pioneer and founder of a process for executive team alignment, not only helping organizations and leaders have the capability to align and stay aligned and to fulfill on their visions of the future, but also training senior consultants in the process in the U.S. and in Europe.
In addition, Miles' complementary expertise is in helping companies master execution -- in other words, helping the client organization attain desired stretch results year after year. His book, "Discovering Execution", co-written with colleague Gary Tomlinson, has just been published and companies are beginning to ask for bulk orders so that they can give copies out to their employees. The book covers new territory on topics critical to the success of any enterprise.
"Everything you do that is purposeful takes execution. It takes execution to create a strategy. It takes execution to implement a strategy. It takes execution to do all of the day-to-day activities one does in their organization. Execution includes planning, engaging the organization, and implementing. It’s all execution. But here’s the dilemma. If all we do is execute, then why don’t we really focus on our ability to be good at it? Why doesn’t every single leader have execution as the number one skill to excel in? More importantly, when are we going to 'discover’ execution?"
He is also the author of a novel, Seven Provocations, which is being talked about as "the novel that has the power of transforming people's lives". Colleagues have been giving it to their clients, who have been passing it along to their friends and family. It perhaps has in it the essence of his coaching prowess.
Miles grew up in Baltimore, but now lives on the Jersey Shore.
