Mark Conkling is a New Mexico author from the Rio Rancho area. He has published four novels: Prairie Dog Blues (2011), Dog Shelter Blues (June, 2012), Killer Whale Blues (2014), and Honey Bee Blues (2018). All four novels explore how the power of nature and spirit--through animals-- can redeem broken lives that have gone astray. His latest novel, Honey Bee Blues, explores the phenomenon of a "narcissistic personality disorder" as evidenced in Jeff, the protagonist. Jeff's redemption and healing is remarkable--a near death experience and the love of a gentle woman.
