Harol Marshall

Harol Marshall was born during a record-setting blizzard in Upstate New York. In her first book of short stories, "Growing Up With Pigs," she writes with humor about her childhood with her four younger brothers on their family farm. The daughter of a police chief, and named for her attorney uncle, Harol Marshall’s interest in law enforcement comes naturally, spurred on by her father's dinner-time storytelling.

An anthropologist by training, Ms. Marshall spent thirty years in academia before retiring to write mysteries and thrillers. She is the author of eleven books and several short stories, all of which have been influenced by her interests in culture, religion, and politics. Harol lives in North Carolina with her physicist husband and three cats, and when she’s not at the keyboard in plain sight of the deer outside her window, she’s reading, cooking, dancing, or watching cop shows on TV.
