I am an Associate Professor of Composition at the University of Cincinnati. I've published one volume of poetry, numerous poems in quarterlies and journals, a Star Trek trivia book, a collection of essays, and several articles for scholarly publication.
A long-time social activist, my involvement with activism began with participation in the anti-Viet Nam war protests of the 1960s, and has included the African-American civil rights movement, the women's liberation movement, and specifically the gay/lesbian liberation movement, in which I have been active since the early 1980s. I take pride in the fact that I've been arrested multiple times for civil disobedience--all in the name of social justice and human equality.
I am single and live in Cincinnati. I am an avid coin collector, a camping enthusiast, and eat, sleep, and drink Cincinnati Reds baseball.
