Keisha Edwards

Keisha M. Edwards is a founding partner of InterChange Consulting in Portland, Oregon. Her primary work is to design and deliver meaningful learning for educators and families on educational equity, cultural competence, and engaging diverse families as allies in the school change process. Since 1996--her work as an educator, trainer, and writer--has received noteworthy attention at the local, regional, and national levels.

During the last 5 years, Ms. Edwards' work has focused on systems change, high-level leadership development, and educational equity. In this time she has had the great honor to facilitate hundreds of workshops, trainings, and coaching sessions with diverse constituents in diverse settings.

She is the author or co-author of several publications, including: Everyone's Guide to Successful Project Planning: Tool for Youth (NWREL-2000); Beyond the Oregon Trail: Oregon's Untold Racial History (Oregon Uniting-2003); and Culturally Responsive Standards-Based Teaching: Classroom to Community & Back (Corwin Press-Jan 2011)

Ms. Edwards intentionally incorporates reflection, relationship building, and renewal as core components of her professional development. As a result, she has witnessed the awesome power that "simple" technologies can hold. Ms. Edwards strongly believes that in the very near future, a new discourse, personal reflection, and deep dialogue across difference will soon be our most powerful and preferred technologies to transform school culture.
