Hi, I'm Sean Cronin and I write mystery/thriller novels. I love writing them and it seems to show.
Mystery/thriller readers rave about my books (not necessarily at 'raves' while consuming molly and dancing to EDM). 'General' readers like the books too. They like the depth of the characters, the settings and the humor. Well, okay, not everyone loves them, but I assume these few are aesthetically dysfunctional.
Readers tell me they like my books for the unexpected story twists, flawed, emotionally injured protagonists and powerful sexual tension. They like the glamorous locations, chic parties, glittering nightlife and uncovering the corruption seething beneath the glitter of high-rise boardrooms, jet-set playgrounds and red carpet premiers.
Here are the basics: Sean Cronin is a 5-star Amazon author, a Goodreads "Five out of Five Stars" novelist and winner of three EFFIE awards. He is the author of the critically acclaimed noir novel, Sharp 9th, a Skinner Malloy Mystery. His newest book is A Perfect Double, and international mystery/thriller featureing his international gossip journalist, Breken Annersen. Cronin, is a former Fortune 100 executive and holds an M.S. from the University of Chicago.
(Oh, I also play in a rock band, ride motorcycles, scuba, and enjoy the company of an elegant woman.)
Hope you'll give my books a try.
2013 - "A Perfect Double" - Although she's tall, thin, blond and gorgeous, Breken Annersen suffers from body dysmorphic disorder. She's got a 'glamour job' at an international gossip magazine, but dreams of a Pulitzer.
All Brek WANTS on her Paris assignment is some dirt on a few starlets at a chic film soiree with handsome, irreverent freelancer, Hutch Branigan. But when a terrorist bomb rips the star-studded event apart, she GETS a new job description, chasing terrorists. Brek and Hutch, this tossed-together pair, witnesses the murder of a starlet who'd been at the Paris bombing, and see the U.S. ambassador's daughter immolated on a dark fortress wall at the Cannes Film Festival. And now, there's a hit man on their trail.
The 'glamour job' turns into a whodunit for Brek and Hutch. Their hunt leads them from the French Rivera to the Swiss mountains. They find murder, corruption and espionage born in Kabul, that spreads across Europe and the U.S. And amid the peril and violence, Brek and Hutch find a smoldering attraction for each other. Which could lead to romance, or heartbreak, or worse.
Reviews for "A Perfect Double"
- "5 of 5 STARS - This is what they call a page-turner! Thriller, action/adventure, suspense & even romantic suspense. I moved through the greater part of the book, hungrily consuming the action-packed story, over the course of a single afternoon! Spellbinding storytelling, Cronin offers the reader an unusual, and quite charming, female protagonist, Breken. The reading experience will not disappoint. I highly recommend A Perfect Double to fellow readers." Kara S. reviewer, Amazon Books, Goodreads, LibraryThing
- "Great mystery...characters, glamor... a rare talent... delicious read," J Mariani, Esquire, Bloomberg
- "I was drawn into the action of the story right from the start when they discovered the burning man, but that was definitely only the start of all the crazy things that these two and the individuals they meet on their way will face. Sean Cronin has created a realistic world with quite realistic events as well. We can only hope they don’t actually come true." Readers' Favorite, Samantha Rivera
Reviews for "Sharp 9th
2011 - "Sharp 9th" - "5.0 out of 5 stars JUST TRY TO PUT THIS MYSTERY DOWN!!
'Sharp 9th is a mystery - murder, corruption, conspiracy' is far too simplistic a description for what is a stunningly written thriller- that rises above the typical mystery and grabs hold of the reader from page one...a winner from A-Z"

"If you dig mysteries, action, music, New York City noir, corporate intrigue, social commentary and sexy Goth reporters, you'll love SHARP 9th." Chris Knopf, author of the Hamptons series of mysteries.
