J.P. Dorsey, RN, MS/MPA completed his Nursing education at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Lewiston, Maine. His undergraduate education in Health Care Administration was completed at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire and obtained his Masters degree in Public Administration from Suffolk University in Boston.

The author is currently semi-retired after thirty years of working in various levels of Nursing Administration for the Acute Care units of the adult and pediatric population throughout the country. Currently, the author lives in Southern California with his partner of eight years and their two Dachshunds.

" I have always loved reading stories related to vampires. From the time I was twelve years old, I spent my time searching public libraries for the vampire genre. The book, "Interview with a Vampire" caught my admiration. I was determined to write a story based on my own personal dreams of vampires, but my professional work took up all of my time. After a long decision to step back from the healthcare industry, I brought out my black and white (old school) copy books and decided to write a trilogy vampire series."

The story introduces the reader to a young man living in Ogunquit Beach, Maine, who learns he may be the last Dhampir (half vampire/ half human) alive to offer protection to his familial vampire clan---the Ostlandik clan. The Ostlandik clan thrive on synthetic blood in an attempt to remain invisible in the human world. Unfortunately, the Euro vampire clan cannot accept vampires who refuse to follow the ancient ritual of feeding from humans and are determined to renew their hunt to annihilate the entire Ostlandik clan. "The Awakening" will take the reader on a suspenseful ride of mystery, murder, deception, and love as the Ostlandik clan assists in protecting a young human transition into becoming a powerful Dhampir and vampire protector.
