David A. Koop
David A. Koop was born in Fresno California December 1958
Mr. Koop left home in his early teens and headed to the Pacific Northwest. He began his career in reforestation. He started out as a laborer learning to speak Spanish from the other crewmembers. He quickly advanced to crew foreman and then to subcontractor. This was the beginning of a long and varied business career that mainly included the creation or purchase of small and medium-size businesses Some of the businesses that Mr. Koop was involved in included reforestation, prepaid legal plans, light manufacturing, the vineyard and wine business, the Christmas tree industry, third-party administration and business development. During this time Mr. Koop appeared on many radio and television shows and in numerous articles in magazines and newspapers about his businesses and his successes including an appearance on The Good Morning America show.
Mr. Koop's pioneering efforts in the field of prepaid legal plans allowed him to become an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Denver University College of Law. He created a successful educational conference on prepaid legal plans held in Toronto Canada. And as a featured speaker on numerous occasions for the American Bar Association, his presentations consistently received the highest ranking.
Mr. Koop's varied experiences and successes provided a foundation that allowed him to become involved in public speaking. A chapter of his life that he looks forward to returning to upon publication of his new book; Cancer - It's a Good Thing I got It * The Life Story of a Very Lucky Man.
Mr. Koop has lived life passionately... traveling much of the globe. Taking in the people, the cultures and the foods from many amazing places. He does his best to live life to the fullest. Enjoying Traveling, Scuba Diving, Sailing, Motorcycles, Gourmet Cooking, Wine Tasting and his Segway.

Introduced to sailing by his father at a very early age, he has skippered many boats from an 8" El Toro to a 50' San Juan. Fresh water and Salt, cruising and racing, with many fond memories and trophies to mark the experiences.
While at home you will find him on top of a hill overlooking the Willamette River. Spending time with his wife and three sons is always job one!
