Linda M. Eccleston

Born and raised in New York City, Eccleston has a BS in Social Studies and Education from St. Johns Univ. and a MS ED in Administration, Supervision and Curriculum Development from SUNY- Plattsburgh. She has 40 years experience as a teacher and administrator in NY and Virginia. She taught US Government and Politics, AP US Government, AP Comparative Government, and World History.

Eccleston was named 1 of 4 Teachers of the Year by Williamsburg Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution in 1995, and in 2005, she was awarded the First Freedom Teaching Excellence Award by the Council for America's First Freedom.

Upon retiring, Eccleston began writing books about US Government for Middle School students. Mrs. Eccleston is committed to helping young people develop a positive, yet realistic, understanding of the American political system and institutions, as well as, instilling an appreciation for the principles and values required for effective participation and commitment to our democratic system.
