Alex Black

Alex grew up hiking and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains just outside of Reno and served as a US Army cavalry scout in South Korea, Germany, and what was then the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. After four years of living in Sweden as a civilian, he returned to the States and worked as a laboratory technician in climate sciences, pharmaceutical development, and biology. A voracious reader of history and the sciences, he presently lives in Portland, Oregon where he manages manufacturing technical publications departments in Silicon Forest for a living.
