I've always loved the outdoors. Hiking, canoeing, camping... I combined this with photography in an effort to capture some of the awesome places I've visited, and finally settled on waterfalls as a subject for a guidebook. My first thought was to create a 50 Hikes-style book, but those folks shot me down. Finally a small publisher in Amherst, MA published my first guidebook- Waterfalls of Massachusetts, An Explorers Guide... Recently I stumbled on an article about self-publishing via Amazon, and updated that book to be published in Kindle format.

This spring I finally finished a Connecticut waterfall guide. I have also revisited panoramic imagery, which I first toyed with some years ago. I found the software much more capable now, and I've begun experimenting with spherical images, posting my first attempts at 360Cities (http://www.360cities.net/search/@author-jbushee).

Another interest has been mapping out the fall locations in Topo!, and most recently I've started experimenting with Google Earth files, so the terrain of the locations can more easily be seen. This saved me earlier this year, when I'd planned to bicycle up Mount Greylock to get updated photos of March Cataract and Deer Hill falls before the gates were open. One look at the climb on Google Earth cured me of that idea!
