Stoddard Martin

Stoddard Martin was born in Philadelphia, grew up in California and has lived principally in London since the early 1970s. He is a critic, editor and author of short novels under the name of Chip Martin. He has taught at Harvard, Oxford, Lodz and Warsaw universities and has written reviews and articles for The Times Literary Supplement, The Jewish Chronicle Quarterly Review (www.quarterly-review.org), Literary Review and other publications. He runs the small press Starhaven (www.starhaven.org.uk) and has been an associate fellow of the Institute of English Studies, University of London. Essays of his have appeared in anthologies including 'George Moore: Dublin, Paris, Hollywood', edited by Conor Montague and Adrian Frazier; 'George Moore: Across Borders', edited by Christine Huguet and Fabienne Dabrigeon-Garcier; and 'George Moore and the Quirks of Human Nature', edited by Maria-Elena Jaime de Pablos and Mary Pierse.
