Lawrence Tom

I retired in 2000 from California State Government in the Department of Transportation (aka Caltrans). I was in a Career Executive Appointment (CEA) classification and served as the comptroller for the Department. After retiring, in addition to authoring 4 books on Chinatowns in the Sacramento region, I performed a lot of volunteer work for seniors. In 2015, at the Sacramento County Board of Supervisor's May meeting, I was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Senior Volunteer. The certificate states as follows:

IN RECOGNITION OF YOUR VOLUNTEER SERVICES THAT HAVE IMPROVED THE LIVES OF OLDER AND DISABLED ADULTS IN SACRAMENTO COUNTY.
