Chris Davies Curtis was born in Yorkshire, England. Early memories of her father's short story writing fired her interest but it was not till many years later that she took up the pen herself. In the meantime she has lived a varied and interesting life. From training to be a nurse in England and practicing as a District Nurse in London, she moved to the tiny feudal Island of Sark in the British Channel Isles with her first husband. There they opened a guest house and ran a smallholding of 200 hens, two goats, hives of bees, 2 cats, the dog Hugo and donkey Pedro. Chris also nursed in the community.
Her first book 'So You want to Live on Sark' gives a sometimes amusing, sometimes poignant tale of those days.
After seven years the Davies travelled by boat to New Zealand with young son Roy. Here they bought a Bedford delivery van and worked and toured for two years. The second book 'From a Feudal Isle to Aotearoa' tells of their first year. Both books are illustrated with delightful sketches and drawings by the author.
The third book 'From Queen's Nurse to Godzone' tells of Chris' years as a district nurse in London and NZ. The fourth and final 'Memoir' tells of her return to Sark after the breakup of her marriage and the 17 years she spent with ' The love of her Life.'
Chris has now launched into Romances, having success with 'People's Friend Pocket Novels' in UK. They have accepted 3 already and seem happy to publish all I can write.
Chris now lives in New Zealand to be near son Roy.
