Life as an author, photographer, psychologist and professor at Naropa University is full to the brim. The real work is to remain mindful, compassionate and walk the walk of a contemplative in the world. Each day the real work is to balance multiple demands with an inner state of rest, sometimes catching a mindful gap between each breath, some days more than others.
Travel to the countries of Asia moves the "stuff" of the books: photos and wisdom inspired by ancient and modern text and imagery. I share my interest in enlightenment awakened by women's experience in The Female Buddha and stories of Guanyin, a female Buddhist figure of compassion and mercy.
