L. Peat O'Neil

L. W. PEAT O'NEIL wrote for The Washington Post for two decades. She is the author of Travel Writing: See the World, Sell the Story published by F&W Media. In Search of Adventure: A Wild Travel Anthology featured her journeys in Kamchatka. Pyrenees Pilgrimage, Walking Across France was published in 2010. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

Peat O’Neil is also an artist; a billboard design won a Florida Arts Commission award. The National Museum of Women in the Arts displayed her travel sketchbooks in Intimate Journeys: Artists Sketchbooks. From 2004 to 2015, O’Neil served as a Foreign Service Specialist with the U.S. Department of State in Shanghai, Mexico City, and Washington, DC.
