Dirk Vogel

A skateboard journalist for over 20 years, Dirk Vogel is the writer behind "Skateboarding Is Not A Fashion: The Illustrated History of Skateboard Apparel" and "Made For Skate: The Illustrated History of Skateboard Footwear," created and produced by the Museum of Skateboard History.

Both coffee table books reveal many previously untold chapters of skateboarding history through exclusive stories and interviews.

Dirk has traveled the globe researching his books and interviewed skateboarding greats past and present, including Stacy Peralta, George Powell, Steve Rocco, Tony Alva, Steve Olson, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen, Mike Vallely, Mark Gonzales, Alphonzo Rawls, Keith Hufnagel, and countless others.

Dirk has been a regular contributor to international skateboarding publications since 1994 and is currently the Skateboarding Editor at Boardsport Source magazine and a staff writer for Sneakers and SPECTR magazines. Having cut his teeth as a sponsored skateboarder in the 1990s, his editorial experience includes positions at Kingpin magazine, Limited magazine, as well as contributions to magazines such as Monster MSM, Place, Avenue, and Sugar.
