Douglas A. Hume

Dr. Doug Hume is Associate Professor of Religion at Pfeiffer University and Chair of the Department of Humanities and Religion. His Ph.D. in New Testament Studies is from Princeton Theological Seminary. At Pfeiffer, he teaches courses in Old Testament, New Testament, the Letters of Paul, and Jesus the Servant Leader. His research interests include the study of friendship, Luke-Acts, narrative interpretation, and the intersection between Bible and film.

Doug lives with his wife in Albemarle, NC, where they like to garden, decorate their home, and take care of their "fur-baby," Bear, a 100 pound Rottweiler mix. Doug has served as President of the Society of Biblical Literature Southeast, and serves as Chair of the Southeastern Commission for the Study of Religion.
