Richard Bell

In 2004 my wife was diagnosed with leukemia and shortly afterwards we were both laid off from our jobs. It was then that I started writing as therapy to deal with depression and try to stay positive. She survived but I kept writing as my inner demons were released. Years later people told me I should collect them into a book.

I was born in Chicago; it was not a choice. Many people started being funny when they were young in order to get other kids to like them. I was funny to get my parents to like me. I donate a percentage of my proceeds to cancer research and have already given hundreds directly to a research university that uses the full amount on research.

I have a rather dark satirical sense of humor. The book operates on several levels and there's a lot of hidden trivia. If you buy a copy, something great will happen to you in the next 3 years. I know it sounds crazy but it works!
