Deric Barry

Deric spent most of his working life at sea. From being a National Serviceman in the Royal Navy, where he was an engineering mechanic, to the Merchant Navy where he was a Junior Engineering Officer, later transferring to the Radio Department where he became a Senior Radio Officer, he gained worldwide experience of ships and the sea. Joining a well known Hydrographic Survey Company he served on ships, rigs and barges conducting marine surveys of the seabed in the North Sea and worldwide in the search for oil. Deric's experiences of travel and his knowledge of many different countries has assisted him in writing five novels as well as hundreds of articles, short stories and blogs.
