Jing Li grew up in China and went to Jilin University. In the United States he received his doctoral degree from Rice University. He currently teaches history at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Before coming to America, Li had worked at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing. He specializes in the study of Sino-American relations, and his book, China's America: The Chinese View the United States, 1900-2000, is selected by Choice magazine as an Outstanding Academic Title for 2011. The work aslo received the 2011 Best Book Award from the Chinese American Librarians Association.
