Julia Doggart

At age eighteen, school completed, I spent six transformative months living and working on a kibbutz in Israel. From there, I travelled to India where an encounter with a meditation teacher significantly changed my life. After nine years in my teacher’s various ashrams in India and the west, I left the organisation and began a more traditional course of study in the United States. I racked up three degrees: a BA in English and Journalism; an MA in English; and a PhD in English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Life in the US was rich in opportunity: I interned at several local newspapers, taught undergraduate literature and composition for a decade, and mentored students in Writing Centres at two public universities. Since my return to the UK in 2008, I have pursued my own writing, taught Writing and SoulCollage® workshops, and coached individual writers in projects large and small.
