Bruce Haulman

Bruce Haulman is an historian who lives on Vashon Island in Washington State. He and Pam live at Vashon Heaven named in remembrance of Pam's Aunt Ethel who always told people she lived on Vashon Heaven. Their four children and five grandchildren all live in the Seattle area. Bruce has taught film history and Pacific Northwest history and is on the Board of the Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Association (vashonheritage.org), Friends of Mukai (friendsofmukai.org), and Voice of Vashon (voiceofvashon.org). He developed The Vashon History Project and and manages the web site vashonhistory.com. He is currently working the third book in his Vashon Triology. The first was a photographic history, Vashon-Marry island: Images of American (2011) with co-author Jean Findlay; the second is the recently published narrative history, A Brief History of Vashon Island (2016); and the third, projected to be published in 2019 focuses on short biographies of the various individuals who helped shape Vashon Island into what it is today.
