Mehmet Efe Biresselioglu

He graduated from TED Ankara College in 1999 and Bilkent University's Political Science and Public Administration Department in 2003 with Honors degree. He worked as an Associate at Deniz Investment's headquarters between 2003 and 2004. In 2005, he received his graduate diploma from Abo Akademi's Human Rights Institute on International Protection of Human Rights and in 2006 he received his MA on European Studies from University of Turku's Jean Monnet Center of Excellence. Between 2005 and 2007, he acted as a non-resident Jr. Fellow at Finnish Business and Policy Forum and between 2007 and 2008; he worked as a Sr. Visiting Research Fellow in Norwegian Institute of International Affairs' Energy Program. In 2009, he received his Ph.D. from IMT Lucca Institute for Advanced Studies' Political Systems and Institutional Change program with the finalization of his Ph.D. thesis on 'European Energy Security: Turkey's Role as a Major Conduit for the Greater Caspian Hydrocarbon Reserves.' In 2009, he also received his 'Doctor Europaeus' degree with the approval of the Confederation of EU Rectors (known today as European University Association). In 2010, he worked as a consultant with Turkish private energy companies and acted as an advisor to the Chairman of Ankara Chamber of Industry. Starting from August 2010, he became an Assistant Professor in Izmir University of Economics' Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. From March 2011 to November 2011, he acted as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. From August 2011, he has been acting as the Head of the Sustainable Energy Division. He is teaching several classes related to Energy Security and Politics, Sustainable Development and Political Economy in the departments of International Relations, Economics and Logistics Management. He is also coordinating Sustainable Energy masters program and Energy Management and Policies certificate program. In addition, he is also acting as a Turkey Country Editor in Balkanalysis.com.
