Tom Barber

Dr Tom Barber is a psychotherapist, author, and systems thinker with over thirty years of clinical experience working at the intersection of psychology, trauma, embodiment, and human change. Over the course of his career, more than 20,000 individuals have benefited directly from his work through therapy, training, and education.

He has worked across a range of high-pressure, high-performance environments, including healthcare, elite sport, creative industries, and executive settings, with a particular interest in how attention, meaning, and embodiment shape human intelligence.

Tom is the co-author of Thinking Therapeutically (2010), written with Dr Sandra Westland, and a co-author of the international bestseller The Midas Touch with Joe Vitale. His doctoral research explored the lived experience of anger in young men.

He is the creator of Psychernetics, an integrative framework exploring human intelligence in a machine-shaped world. His latest book, Unmachine Your Mind: Reclaiming Human Intelligence Before AI Does It for You, examines how depth, agency, and authorship can be reclaimed in an age of intelligent systems.
