Carly Syms

Hi! I'm Carly.

I've been writing forever, or at least since the second grade when I wrote my very first book and published it by covering cardboard in wrapping paper and writing my name on the front in Magic Marker.

I like to think things have changed since then! I'm a twenty-something alum of the University of Wisconsin and Northwestern University.

All of my characters have some element of me somewhere in them. I'm an original Jersey girl who spent a lot of my time growing up down the shore like Lexie in 'Shipwrecked Summer.'

I fell in love with football in third grade and haven't looked back since. While I definitely can't play it like Whitney from 'Cinderella in Cleats', I often dreamed about taking the field.

Like most girls, I've had my fair share of heartbreak (can anyone think Kate in 'Written in the Stars'?) and I'm a Phoenix Coyotes season ticket holder, a la Natalie from 'Cinderella in Skates.'

When I'm not writing, I'm working in dog rescue, exploring the desert, hanging with my own two pups and DIYing!
