Coming from a long line of drovers since 1726, I held the last licence to drive cattle through the streets of the City of Newport in the 60s. My father and I were responsible for managing animal transport througout the UK for many of the great circuses. After my father's sudden illness and demise, the company was sold and I joined the British Royal Mail as Transport Manager but took early retirement to travel taking medicines with the charity medecines sans frontieres to war torn areas. After 5 years and other charity work, I met my beloved co-author wife and together we bought a farm. I also wrote about my transport, agriculture and culture. I painted a great deal as well for fun. Then disaster struck, my wife became an overnight invalid with Crohn's disease, a bowel removal and more associated problems due to a stroke that took her mobility. That was not enough to tie her mentally down although it left her bed bound and unable to move, Together we started to write a resource book for all ostomates - it was the book we needed when Liz was taken so ill and we had little knowledge to call upon. WE update the book daily with our website thebowelmovement, where we feature child ostomate puppet videos to inspire the children of the world who have to spend their lives with a bag. All our royalties are donated to ostomy charities worldwide.
