Brian C. Conley

Brian C. Conley was born and raised in Baton Rouge, La. where his first stints in writing included unsingable songs, unproduceable plays, and unbearable poetry. But after turning nine, he decided to take his writing seriously by reading such works as Horton Hears a Who and Green Eggs and Ham, later graduating to writers as diverse as Eric Jerome Dickey, Chuck Palahniuk, and John Steinbeck.

When his college professor suggested he change his major from Marketing to English due to a pretty awesome story he'd written for class, Conley - genius that he is - dropped out of school and moved to Houston to become a mailroom clerk, a security guard, and a shoe peddler.

Long aware of his talents, his beloved parents, in an attempt to lend some direction to their wayward son (and perhaps to prevent him from moving back in with them), enrolled Conley in a creative writing class at Rice University. He was, as they say, a hit.

Since then, the prolific writer has gone on to publish one short story (Voices Volume II Anthology), and two novels - Stay and The Neighborhood.

He lives in North Dallas with his wife, two children, and thousands of voices in his head.
