Marcus Slease (Portadown, N. Ireland 1974) is the author of 17 books from indie and university presses (7 full length collections and 10 chapbooks). His writing has been translated into Danish and Polish, featured in the Best British Poetry series, and has been published in magazines in Europe and the United States, such as Tin House, Poetry, Fence, Lyrikline, and The Lincoln Review. He has performed his work at various festivals, art galleries, and events in Prague, Madrid, London, Bristol, Manchester, North Carolina and Ireland. He has made his home in such places as Turkey, Poland, Italy, South Korea, the United States, Spain, and the United Kingdom – experiences that inform his surreal-absurd poetry. He comes from a working class background and teaches high school in Barcelona.
