Caneeka Miller

Welcome! I'm Caneeka, a woman who loves poetry, people, and positivity.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and coursework towards a Master of Jurisprudence in Children’s Law and Policy from Loyola Chicago have allowed me to professionally work with government agencies as well as the youngest in the population to the oldest providing advocacy, guidance, support, and resources to parents and families in need. I am also working on my DONA certification as a Postpartum Doula.

I am the author of 4 books. A poetry collection, Smeared Eyeliner and Faded Lipstick, a devotional, On The Heels of My Father: Removing the Weight While Walking Into Your Purpose, WOVEN: Womanhood and Unveiling God’s Beauty, and my second poetry collection In A High Place: Black Womanhood and A Woman Rising.

Finding my voice in writing at a young age has allowed me to share my story at universities, student organizations, middle schools, women’s ministries, the Wall Street Journal, organizations like AAUW and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Housing Urban Development (HUD) government agency, local radio, and magazines.

I yell Roll Tide to say Hello, represent Delta Sigma Theta with a deep honor, believe that there's a stage in heaven for people who think they can dance, love technology, and traveling and I may or may not be a walking iTunes. I write for the voiceless, love deeply, laugh loudly, and have a heart for justice.
