George L Potter, born in Bogalusa, La in 1941; educated at LSU, Chemical Engineering, 1965; Law, 1974. Potter has extensive experience in oil exploration and production in Texas, Louisiana and the Republic of Yemen. Potter retired from Hunt Oil Company in 2002 and relocated from Dallas, Texas to Asheville, NC. In Search of the Yellow Dog and its prequel, The Treasure of Money Hill, are set in southeast Louisiana, while Death in the Empty Quarter is set in exotic Yemen.
