"Tom Named By Horse" is a love story at its core and just as love can be powerful and at the same time confusing, so were the times just before what some refer to as the Great Plains Indian Wars. Parallels between Tom Named By Horse's awakening and brutal changes washing over the great plains weave together tell the story of a time of struggle and confusion. While most of the characters are fictional, the struggles, love, hate, confusion and desperation are true. Tom Named By Horse's birth on the day of Chief Red Cloud's powerful vision of this terrifying change sweeping over Grandmother Earth bind the two together in powerful ways.
“It’s for the Horses,” truly is for the horses. You’ll enjoy stories about their spirituality, communication, emotions, needs, care, connection, health, exercises, housing, foot care and more. This is not a book about riding or training horses. This is a book on my thoughts, ideas and suggestions on how folks might find the joy in doing things for the horse, with the horse’s point of view as the leading guide. It is my hope to help as many people as possible learn to hear the horse, feel their spirit, and in that way help horses and their people everywhere.
"When writing We'll Have The Summer, I wanted to write a story of an uncommon love so enduring it could overcome insurmountable obstacles. My passion for horses and the way they can enrich a person's life needed to be part of the story. I believe in the power of love and the spirit of the horse and these two forces came together to tell this story. My only job was to fill in the details." - Dutch Henry
