Eric Merritt is a technology executive with deep roots in distributed systems and concurrent programming. He was an early contributor to the Erlang ecosystem, serving as a core developer for the Erlware open source projects and building the Sinan build system. His experience shipping production Erlang at companies including Amazon informed Erlang and OTP in Action, which he co-authored to help developers build fault-tolerant, concurrent systems.
Eric has spent more than two decades in software engineering, from IBM mainframes to large-scale distributed infrastructure. He now leads engineering organizations, but his passion for languages, concurrency, and systems design remains.
