Steve Maxwell

Steve Maxwell formed TechKNOWLEDGEy Strategic Group (TSG) in 1992 to provide strategic consulting and advisory services to the environmental services and water industries. The firm offers investment banking services, as well strategic and management consulting assistance to a broad array of public and private entities in the environmental and water industries. Over the past twenty years, Mr. Maxwell has worked with many of the major players in the water and wastewater treatment business, and he has represented both buyers and sellers in approximately fifty successful merger and acquisition transactions.

Mr. Maxwell has thirty years of experience in the environmental and water industries; prior to founding his current company, he served as Manager of Strategic Planning for Union Pacific Corporation, and Executive Vice President of Recra Environmental, an environmental testing and consulting firm. Mr. Maxwell is the publisher and Editor of The Water Market Review, a concise annual review of challenges and opportunities in the world water industry. He is also the author of numerous reports on the environmental business and water commerce issues, and is active across the industry, serving on various editorial and advisory boards. Mr. Maxwell is also the author of "The Business of Water" as well as the current book "The Future of Water," a full-length book to be published in April of 2011 outlining the future challenges of the water resource industry.

Mr. Maxwell holds Masters Degrees in both Public Policy and in Geology from Harvard University, and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Earlham College. He is an avid cyclist, and recently became one of the few Americans to complete the legendary climb Mont Ventoux, in southern France, from all three directions in one day.
