James W. Mercer

James W. Mercer is a geologist with degrees from Florida State University and University of Illinois. He has always been interested in religion, especially common beliefs. After traveling to many parts of the world, he combined his interests in geology, religion and travel into his first novel, THE SCROLL, The Missing Eighteen Years. His many technical publications did not prepare him for creative writing, which was a rewarding learning experience. Although a Florida native by birth, he currently resides in the Washington DC area with his wife.

In 2013, he published his second novel, THE VOLCANO That Changed The World.
